Verification issues with Ticketmaster
Stuck on a bot detection message from Ticketmaster, not receiving your text verification code, or want to change the phone number for your 2-step verification? Find the solution for each situation below.
I'm getting a message saying I was detected as a bot. What now?
If you get a message on the Ticketmaster website saying you were detected as a bot and your session was suspended, this can have several causes:
- iCloud Private Relay is enabled (Apple devices): turn it off, or use a different device.
- You're using a VPN connection: workplaces often use a VPN. Turn it off if possible, or use a private Wi-Fi network.
- Too many requests from one location or multiple devices: you may be temporarily blocked if you try to order tickets from multiple devices at once, or refresh too often.
Tips to fix the issue:
- Use a 5G connection instead of Wi-Fi.
- Try a different browser.
- Use only one device, and avoid refreshing too often.
I'm not receiving the SMS verification code. What now?
First, try logging in via a different device (PC or laptop), a different mobile phone, or a different Wi-Fi network.
Still not working? Check the following:
1. Check the spam or blocked messages folder (Android)
Some Android phones automatically place text messages in the "Spam and blocked" folder:
- Open your Messages app.
- Tap the three dots in the top right corner, or go to the settings menu.
- Select "Spam and blocked".
- Check if the verification code is there, and unblock if needed.
2. Check for active restrictions or blocks
- That your mobile plan doesn't restrict incoming texts.
- That your carrier hasn't placed a block (e.g. when you're abroad).
- That texts from short codes aren't being blocked.
3. Check your device
- Check that your smartphone is up to date.
- Check for apps that might be blocking messages.
- Restart your device to reconnect to your mobile network.
- If possible, try the same SIM card in a different device.
How do I change the phone number for my 2-step verification?
Get in touch via the contact form to start the process, and state the reason for the change. Once the security check has started, you'll receive an email with a link to complete it:
-
Start the verification via the link in the email.
-
Select the country your ID document is from.
-
Take a photo of the front and back of your ID document.
Make sure the lighting is good and the text is clearly legible. -
Confirm you're human by taking a live photo of yourself.
No camera on your device? You can continue on a different device via a QR code or email. -
Once the check is complete, the old phone number is removed from your account.
The next time you log in, Ticketmaster will ask you to add a new phone number.
