Antwerp Metro Tunnel Renovation – What are the alternatives for my journey to Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen?

Cyclists can easily travel from the Left Bank to the Right Bank via:
Both tunnels are free to use and open day and night.
By tram or bus
The following tram and bus lines continue to operate as usual:
- Tram 1: Zuid ↔ Luchtbal
- Tram 4: Hoboken ↔ Berchem Station
- Tram 7: Mortsel ↔ Eilandje
- Tram 10: P+R Schoonselhof ↔ Wijnegem
- Bus 13: Polderstad ↔ Opera
- Bus 14: Hemiksem ↔ Opera
The following lines are affected by the works:

Tram 3 (P+R Melsele ↔ P+R Merksem)
No service between P+R Melsele and Astrid -
Tram 5 (P+R Linkeroever ↔ Wijnegem)
No service between P+R Linkeroever and Astrid. -
Tram 9 (Regatta ↔ Berchem Station)
No service between Regatta and Diamant. -
Tram 15 (Regatta ↔ P+R Boechout)
No service between P+R Linkeroever and Diamant.
👉 Stops Opera and Meir will no longer be served on these lines.
New: shuttle bus P5 (Van Eedenplein ↔ Opera)
A temporary shuttle bus P5 runs between Van Eedenplein (Linkeroever) and Opera.
- Daily from 5:00 AM until 1:00 AM
- Direct access to the city centre
New: tram line 11 (Berchem Station ↔ Melkmarkt)
Tram line 11 resumes its former route and stops at Rooseveltplaats, close to Opera.
The trams operate daily.
By car
Travelling by car from the Left Bank? We recommend avoiding P+R Linkeroever and using:
Both offer a direct tram connection to Stadsschouwburg Antwerp.
