Why is my drink served in a reusable cup?
Be•at uses reusable cups at all venues to reduce waste and its ecological footprint. You return your cup at the bar or in a dedicated collection bin — never with regular recyclable waste.
Why does be•at use reusable cups?
Since June 15, 2023, Flemish law has required reusable cups at events.
Be•at switched to reusable cups at all venues as a result. Beyond the legal framework, this also helps us reduce our waste and our ecological footprint.
How do I return my cup at an arena?
When you order a drink at the bar, it's served in a reusable cup. Once you've finished your drink, you can return the cup in one of two ways:
- At the bar: hand your cup back to one of the bars in the venue.
- In the dedicated bin: drop your cup in the bin set up for that purpose.
Note: reusable cups do not belong in regular recycling bins. Regular recyclable waste is recycled, while the cups are washed and reused. There are plenty of clearly marked bins specifically for reusable cups.
How do I return my cup at a theater?
Did you order a drink in a glass and want to bring it into the theater hall? Pour it into a reusable cup. After use, return the cup to one of the bars in the venue.
What else should I know about the reusable cups?
- Don't take reusable cups home — return them before leaving the venue.
- Don't throw cups on the ground: this breaks them so they can't be reused, and it can also be dangerous for anyone who steps on them.
- be•at is legally required to recover at least 90% of the cups — a goal we can only reach with your help.
